How To Repair a Kayak

A Kayak can be expensive and both fiberglass and polypropylene kayaks have been virtually impossible to repair. Tech-Patches (patent pending) will repair both types of Kayaks quickly easily and permanently. Tech-Patches are made of a reinforced polymer, are flexible and impervious to thermal cycling. How to repair a hole or crack in a fiberglass kayak.
Need:  A Starter Kit.

1. Rough the area around the problem in the Kayak with a coarse grade of sandpaper (60 grit)
2. Clean the roughed area with a residue free cleaner and a soft cloth.
3. Spray the roughed area with a solvent-based Activator/Accelerator.  Let the Accelerator dry.
4. Apply a Structural Cyanoacrylate to a Tech-Patch, leaving the corners free.
5. Grab opposite corners, gently stretch and press the Tech-Patch on the roughed area.
6. Grab the remaining corners, gently stretch and press.
7. Apply the Structural Cyanoacrylate to the corners and press down.
8. Run a bead of the Structural Cyanoacrylate completely around the seam of the Tech-Patch.
9. Spray the seam with the Activator/Accelerator.

How to repair a hole or crack in a polypropylene kayak.
Need:  A Basic Poly Kit to use the Bonding Poly Process (patent pending).

1. Rough the area around the problem with a coarse grade of sandpaper (60 grit).
2. Clean the roughed area with a residue free cleaner and a soft cloth.
3. Prime the roughed area with an adhesion promoter like Tech-Bond’s Poly Prep.
4. Spray the roughed area with a solvent-based Activator/Accelerator.  Let the Accelerator dry.
5. Warm the roughed area with a heat gun or hair dryer.  Warm to the touch, not hot.  Approximately 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
6. Apply a structural Cyanoacrylate to a Tech-Patch, leaving the corners free.
7. Grab opposite corners, gently stretch and press the Tech-Patch on the prepared area.
8. Grab the remaining corners, gently stretch and press.
9. Apply the Structural Cyanoacrylate to the corners and press down.
10. Run a bead of the Structural Cyanoacrylate completely around the seam of the Tech-Patch.
11. Spray the seam with the Activator/Accelerator.
