What is a performance tool? Answer. Any chemical or compound that enhances the performance of an adhesive. The Tech-Bond Molecular Bonding System has three performance tools, as follows;
- an Activator/Accelerator
- the Poly Prep
- our Filler
For those familiar with adhesives, there is an little awareness of what an accelerator does. According to users, accelerators speed the cure of CA’a, a woefully inadequate definition. More precisely, accelerators havae an activator chemical that initiates a chemical reaction and/or intensifies reaction necessary for creating a bond.
You know the heat that radiates out when you use an accelerator? That’s a byproduct of the chemical reaction. More heat means a stronger chemical reaction. A stronger chemical reaction creates a stronger bond. Skeptical? Test it.
Surface primers for poly’s, adhesion promoters in industry trade lingo, have been around awhile. These primers are critical to bonding polymers, but they are just the first step in bonding polymers. With the Poly Prep you can glue, not bond, but glue most polymers. Sooner or later glue joins fall apart. Bonds don’t. Please see our Bonding Poly Process (patent pending) page for a complete description on how to bond, not glue, bond polymers, any and all polymers.
Least utilized of the performance tools, the Filler solves a number of problems common to those working with their hands. There is no over-the-counter equivalent. Use the Filler to fill holes and cracks, even stripped out screw holes. Once a stripped out screw hole is filled, you can immediately drill and tap. No need to wait 24 hours. The Filler can also be used to reinforce repairs or glue seams and, finally, can be used to fix pin holes in tanks.
